Experience matters. So does the way a student feels in the room.
I have taught secondary science since 2002, with a particular love of Biology. The part I still love most is seeing something that felt impossible begin to make sense.
My lessons are friendly, focused and shaped around the individual student. We will be honest about what needs work, notice what is improving and keep the next step manageable.
Teaching should give students a way forward.
Students can become stuck for many different reasons: a missing foundation, a topic that was rushed, an exam question that feels impossible to decode or a run of results that has dented confidence.
More than two decades in the classroom has shown me that there is nearly always another way to explain an idea. Good tuition starts with listening carefully, then choosing the explanation, practice and level of challenge that will help the learner in front of you.
